CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest professional accounting bodies with a global membership of more than 168,000 members (as at 31 December 2020) working in more than 100 countries and regions around the world.
Our core services to members include education, technical support and advocacy. CPA Australia employees and members work together with local and international bodies to represent the views and concerns of the profession to governments, regulators, industries, academia and the general public.
CPA Australia’s Board of Directors consists of up to 10 directors and at least two directors must be non-members. The Board is currently comprised of six member directors and three non-member directors. In 2021, two serving member directors and one non-member director will reach the end of their current terms (and are entitled to renominate). CPA Australia is seeking suitably qualified candidates to apply to join the Board for a three-year term commencing on Thursday, 1 October.
In addition, there is a current casual vacancy and a suitably qualified candidate is being sought to join the Board for the remainder of that term, being the 12 months from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2022.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of corporate governance and of directors’ duties and responsibilities. They should possess high standards of ethics, proven leadership skills, be analytically minded and solutions focussed. They will also have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Expressions of interest are particularly sought from people with experience in (but not limited to):
- Education / Academia
- Public Practice / Small to Medium Enterprise (SME)
- Public Sector accounting, auditing and finance
- Large corporate or accounting firm
- International business
- Data analytics and Digital transformation
- Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
Prior board experience is desirable. Aspiring directors must have the potential to develop advanced skills as a director.
